Does that sound right ? my friend in philippines elder mother went in hosp.with blood in urine, diagnosed as stomach ulcer, dr. reccomends 5 glasses of water every morning, does that sound right ?

Hello. : Hello. I can't explain the history as provided. Blood in urine would not necessarily correlate with an abdominal ulcer unless there was a bleeding disorder/ problem. If a person has a urinary tract problem, it would be normal to encourage the person to hydrate well. If they have an ulcer (especially one that is bleeding) it would also be likely that the person should hydrate well. However, i would be surprised if this was the only medical recommendation made for hematuria or an ulcer.
