Stomach pain: If the pain is in the epigastric region, he may have gastritis. Frequent small meals help. Antacid helps.

Yes but...: Most ulcers are caused by a bacterial infection with H Pilori. There is a test for this. Other causes for stomach pain in young people include gastritis, abdominal epilepsy (uncommon) vasculitis (uncommon) porphyria (uncommon). More information is needed.

Doctor thinks I have stomach ulcers. I don't smoke, drink, or take NSAIDs. Doc made no mention of H. pylori. Should I suggest blood and breath tests? If it's not H. pylori, what else could cause ulcers or is it another issue? Is excess acid possible?
Had stomach bloat doc put me on Zantac (ranitidine) for ulcer did blood test to see if I had h.pylori that came back clear what is the next course of treatment?
