This : This will depend on what type of implants you had placed, several implants or multiple, and how well your home care is. You can get gum disease around implants the same way you can on your natural teeth. We see our implant patients every 3 to 6 months based on their individual needs.

WE : We like to check our new implants in our patients a little more frequently in the first year, at six weeks, twelve and then at four months. We are looking out for any kind of inflammation around the implant. This is especially true for the patients for whom the crowns were cemented onto the abutments. We try to get all the cement out so that there is no bone loss around the implant. Dr neil mcleod dds dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.

Dental : Dental implants need periodic examination just like the rest of your teeth. I would think that after the first few times, depending on the condition of the implants and the rest of your gums your dentist may be comfortable with your returning every six months. However, remember that you spent a great deal of time and money getting those implants placed and restored. There is no downside to seeing your dentist more often.

We : We normally check our patients 4 times a year when they come for their periodontal maintenance or prophilaxis, every six months is 'passé' the american academy of periodontics recommends a minimum of 3 times a year your regular prophilaxis. So make at least your regular visits every 4 months and best would be every 3 months to keep your oral health under control. Good luck!, .

Same as your teeth: Dental implants require the same kind of professional maintenance (cleaning) as do natural teeth.

Regular check-ups: After healing and restoration, usual 6 month checkups generally suffice. Be sure that the bite is checked by the dentist at every visit. Implant restorations are different that those on teeth, and require diligent occlusal checks and adjustments as needed. They have no shock-absorbing ligament to cushion them.

Depends: If there are any issues with the dental implants and the oral hygiene is poor, then at least every 3 months. However, if the dental implants are stable, the bone and gums around the implants are healthy and the oral hygiene is good, then every 6 months is fine.

Routine the same: Implant supported teeth of any type require routine care, just as regular teeth. The difference is that implant supported teeth require special instruments for cleaning, but any dentists doing implants would know the appropriate maintenance protocols. Unless you are a high risk dental patient, twice a year would be just fine!

Every 6 months: No, your regular six month visit should do for any care of dental implants. We are concerned about peri-implantitis (or irrigated tissue around the implant). We can spot and help correct this with regular visits.

No, 6 months ok: Implants do not need extra care or maintenance. You can go every 6 months and be just fine.

After healing: As a general rule, i see my patients more frequently in the first year following implant placement--especially if there are questions about home care abilities, bone augmentation preliminary procedures, or any peri- or post-operative complications. Healthy, non-smokers with good oral hygiene do not need to be seen any more often. After healing--should be good to go.

Every 3-4 months: If you require dental implants you should be seen more often than every six months if you like to predictable maintain your implants and avoid getting more.

Follow up D implants: Usually 6 month check-ups are adequate for dental implants. More frequently if you have gum disease with bone loss other places in your mouth. If you have a denture being supported by implants then every 3 months initially.
