It : It is difficult to answer your question without knowing a lot more about you, your symptoms, their history and time course, your family history, your medical history, your habits, work history and without having seen you. It could be bipolar illness, it could be depression or it could be something else. I suggest that you arrange for an evaluation by a psychiatrist. See your doctor: The possibilities of what is going on is a lengthy list. Start with a thorough physical exam, have your family doctor stabilize your sleep and anxiety. If agitation persists he or she can provide a low dose neuroleptic for that. By then you should hopefully be able to send a psychiatrist for a thorough diagnostic evaluation. Include psychotherapy. Go to er if you are suicidal or homicidal.
