Sign of depression?: Hi the increased sleep may be a sign of depression as part of the bipolar illness . Would recommend you seeing a psychiatrist for comprehensive evaluation and treatment . Bipolar illness is complex and patients can suifer from depression( low) or mania/ hypomania( high) or they can be in euthymia( in between). The treatment of choice is mood stabilizers and therapy.
