Hello, : Hello, if the swelling you are describing is under the jaw (as oppossed to under the tongue) this could be swollen lymph nodes that have become inflammed in reaction to your infection. However, if you have sore throat and swollen lymph nodes, you could have streph throat or mononucleosis. It is important to be checked for streph throat as a course of antibiotics could prevent complications in the future.
