Not normal: Sensitivity on one side of the tongue with throat discomfort is not normal and somewhat concerning. You should start by having your primary doctor examine you and if need be, an ENT may need to look in your throat with a special camera. Should your throat discomfort worsen to a point that you are unable to swallow comfortably or begin to have difficulty breathing you should go to your nearest er.

Not normal: There seems to be something causing the swelling under you jaw(probable swollen gland) and soreness in tongue and throat. Since it is only one side, there is some lesion(sore) or an infection that is on inside of mouth, on tongue, tooth, or bone. It could be as simple as a canker sore to a dental abcess. Call your dentist so he can determine the source of discomfort.
