With : With a labial sulcus incision (inside the mouth) the external bruising will be gone in a couple of weeks and the incision can't be seen.

For : For for the most common type of chin augmentation using an implant, there will be an incision either externally beneath the chin or inside the mouth. The external scar should be small and fine and of course will be less visible with time. There will be swelling and maybe bruising that can last for two weeks. Most patients can return to work and social activities within 2 weeks.

This : This depends on the extent of the surgical procedure. Bone advancement surgery may take 6-9 months to settle to assess the final results, whereas implant augmentation genioplasty may be satisfactorily healed by 3 weeks.

Chin surgery: Everyone reacts differently to surgery. One patient might bruise severely and one may not. In average, after one week 50-70% of swelling should be gone.
