All : All things in moderation. Alcohol prolongs bleeding and can increase your complication rate for surgery. If you know that stopping for a few days is a serious problem, perhaps you may want to consider an alcohol treatment program prior to cosmetic surgery.

First : First and foremost you should be honest with your plastic surgeon and the anesthesia provider that will be caring for you. It sounds as though you consume alcohol on a regular basis if you are concerned that you may not be able to stopp. Alcohol does prolong bleeding time placing you at a higher risk of bleeding complications but drinking can also affect your liver and how you respond to some medications. Nope....: I would center your efforts on getting the drinking problem eliminated. Pass on the tummy tuck for now. :).

No: It's not safe. Take care of your heavy drinking problem first. Once you are healthy, consider the tummy tuck.

Alcohol: I agree with my colleagues about the dangers of alcohol and surgery. Unfortunately no one else mentioned that drinking alcohol excessively can itself lead to weight gain, especially around the belly. You need to review your drinking habits, as a tummy tuck is unlikely to solve your basic problem. There's help for alcohol abuse, and it can save your health & life. Please talk with your docs!
