Placement & holes: Proper placement of the diaphragm in the vagina to cover the cervix requires practice and training by the OB GYN who fits the product initially. The diaphragm must be inspected after use by holding it up to the light after cleaning to be sure there aren't pin holes present that allow sperm passage. Diaphragms must always use a contraceptive cream inside the cup.
