8 hrs: Leave the diaphragm in for 8 hours after intercourse. If you have sex again before the 8 hours is up, do not remove the diaphragm, but add more of the spermicidal jelly into the vagina.

Pull it out: Diaphragms are easily removed by hooking your finger under the edge of the diaphragm and pulling it out.

Diaphragm removal: Diaphragm removal can be made much easier by placing a foot up on a chair or toilet, then bearing down like you are having a bowel movement (valsalva maneuver) while inserting a finger without a long fingernail into the vagina and Voila! Easy as pie removal. Please keep a short finger nail so as not to inadvertently puncture the diaphragm surface.
