Abdominal : Abdominal pain must always be taken seriously. If a patient has diarrhea, sometimes it can cause left-sided pain as that is where the colon is. Other causes of left-sided abdominal pain can be diverticulitis (from little loops on the bowel that get inflammed), or pain with the pancreas, though that is usually higher up in the abdomen. A patient should be evaluated if they have persistent abdominal pain, vomiting, or fever associated with their pain.
