Dr : Dr lin has some provided some excellent advice. I recommend that you never self- regulate this type of medication without consent and input from your doctor. As you are aware; there was a negative impact for your self- titration of your medication. I recommend that you contact your physician sooner rather than later.

Go : Go see your family physician or endocrinologist or whoever wrote you the prescription for your thyroid medication, presumably levothyroxine. Tell him/her what you did and ask to get your TSH checked. It will probably come back low indicating that you're taking too much. It's best to work with your physician when taking this and any other medication. Prior to starting the medication or making a dose adjustment, you should ask your physician about what to expect, eg benefit/improvement as well as side effect. You should also understand when to return for reassessment. In the case of levothyroxine, you can check your TSH level as soon as 6 weeks after a dose change. Good luck!
