You : You should try to get the rct as soon as possible. The antibiotic may control your current infection for a short time but unless the rct is done, the infection/pain will come back. Often it will come back even more painful or infected.

There : There are many reasons for needing a root canal, but the fact that you were given an antibiotic indcates that an active or looming infection is evident. That being the case, i can assure you that the longer you put off the root canal treatment the more difficult it will be to get final resolution. Don't be fooled by the antibiotic-it's covering up the real problem. Do yourself a favor, rearrange your priorities, find the money and get that tooth treated asap. Consider also that you will need some sort of final restoration for the tooth. Work that into the budget, see if you can make payment arrangaments or sign up for a dental financing plan such as care credit, but do not wait.

The : The antibiotics will reduce the infection and symptoms from the infection for a short period of time. The source of the infection still exists and you should seek treatment for that as soon as possible. The symptoms from the infection will return if the they remain untreated so should get the tooth root canal treated as soon as possible.

As : As you know antibiotics were given to you to control the infection and while taken them your root canal is supposed to be performed. Now if you have or need to wait one month, you will need to take again antibiotics two to three days prior to your procedure. I hope you will be pain free during this waiting period. Now let me inform you that, your infection will not be resolved until the root canal will be finished, and all bacteria coming from that infection will not only remain in that tooth area but will be traveling through your body ( brain, lungs, heart, kidneys etc). Please try to prioritize your budget and have your root canal done asap, and if you want to wait a month for your build up and crown, that will be more reasonable. Good luck!
