First, : First, find an experienced injector. Next, be sure to explain the look that you are after and stress that you think that "less is more". Ask for some before/after photos.

You : You want an injector who is experienced with treating this area. Discuss what your goals are. The overly pouty look you desribe is often related to placing too much product. Knowledge of proper lip anatomy and aesthetics is key.

Consult : Consult a plastic surgeon that has experience with fillers... Don't just assume that anyone doing fillers is adequate... Best of luck to you.

I : I like the "trout pout" term and i think i will use it in the future. The look you are referring to, is unfortunately too common, because too many people without the proper training and knowledge of anatomy are doing lip enhancement. These doctors ( gyn, dentists and internists) use the simplest approach or short cuts to the lip augmentation and that's just plain unfortunate for the patients. The lip is one of the most complicated structures and requires to be studied in each patient before the lip is augmented. You must do your due diligence, find a plastic surgeon with experience in injectibles, see before and after photos and speak to other patients like your self, or the staff which can show you the photos before and after. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.

Choose...: Choose a good surgeon and communicate clearly what you want before your treatment. Plan on using less than a full container of filler.

Communication: This is a case where "more is not better". Clearly discuss what you want. Bring pictures of what you like. Use a small amount of filler, no more than 1 syringe, then assess how you like it before doing any more.
