This : This will depend on muscle repair or no muscle repair with your mini tummy tuck. The muscle repair will lengthen the post op recovery with no heavy lifting (greater than 20 lbs) or strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks. Without abdominal muscle repair, the return to activity can be a few weeks. Lifting with your legs as opposed to upper body will also be preferable. Best of luck to you.

A : A mini-tummy tuck typically means that the abdominal wall only below the umbilicus is tightened and the lower abdominal skin is tightened as appropriate. The same post-operative activity instructions should apply in terms of lifting, pushing or pulling. I tell my patients to avoid lifting greater than 10 pounds for 6 weeks after surgery as long as you are healing well. This is an important discussion to have with the plastic surgeon who you chose to take care of you. I hope this helps. Dr. Edwards.

This : This depends on your daughter's weight. However, I do advise patients to refrain from lifting for 2 weeks after surgery and then to begin with a slow and progressive return to gradual resistance type exercises with proper form (using your legs). A slow return to exercise with an emphasis on core strengthening as advocated with pilates or yoga.

Two weeks: Straining activities such as lifting will increase your blood pressure and may open up a bleeder and cause a hematoma . You may sit down and have your child on your lap but no lifting for the most critical few days.

Ask Surgeon.: Your plastic surgeon will be in the best position when it comes to helping you decide when it is safe to return to specific activities. He/she knows exactly what was done, how you are progressing, whether you have experienced any complications, and is ultimately responsible for your care. Best wishes.
