The : The visian icl (implantable collamer lens), created by staar® surgical company, is a phakic (do not remove the natural lens) intraocular lens (iol) for the treatment of myopia and other refractive errors. It is reversible and the surgery for this is very similar to cataract surgery.

The : The icl stays in, just like you would always need glasses or contact lenses. It 'corrects' your vision by giving you the power you need just like glasses or contacts.

ICL : Icl is similar to contact lens except that it is placed inside the eye so you do not have to remove it. If for any reason, it is removed later on then your vision will return to the state it was in before the surgery was performed. It should not come out until your cataract progresses to a point that you need the surgery for the cataract. If you are consulting a surgeon, these questions should be answered by the surgeon.
