Doubt : Doubt this is an insect but another option is to turn out the lights and place a flashlight against the affected ear. The bug will crawl to the light.

Baby : Baby oil, mineral oit, or vinegar to drown it - that is if you actually have an insect for ten years. Given that their average lifespan is measured in months, rather than years, it is more likely you have tinnitus - or noise in the ears. If you are unconvinced, please have a doctor look in your ear.
