Temporal arteritis is the inflammation of medium sized arteries of the head and neck - classically seen in the artery over the temple. This disease can cause damage to the blood vessels that supply the head and neck and can affect blood flow in these areas. 40% of people will also have respiratory complaints such as a dry cough with this.
