Symptomatic care: Antibiotic therapy is most beneficial for hastening resolution of symptoms if instituted within the first two days of illness if you have a + strep test.. If your symptoms are persisting you may need to return for reevalution. Also consider testing for mono. If you want some relief from the pain of sore throat, you can take pain medicine that you can get without a prescription.
