Botox : Botox is a neurotoxic protein called botulinum toxin. It is produced by the bacterium clostridium botulinum. The protein used in small amounts causes weakening of the muscles by blocking nerve impulses. Botox used on facial muscles for cosmetic improvement takes 2-5 days for results to take effect and lasts 3-6 months. Once Botox is injected into the muscle there is no known reversal process.
