Painful : Painful lymphadenopathy (painful lymph nodes) is not a feature of HIV infection. Any physician can order the HIV panel including subclass 2. Mononucleosis should be tested for, as well as syphilis. Lymphoma should be rules out as well. Get to your doctor for discussion.

Elisa: In new york state HIV 1 and HIV 2 can be tested through elisa test, and confirmatory test if elisa positive , you need to see your doctor and have request him/ her to check it , most lab check both.
