Hello, : Hello, adderal is prescribed for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (with or without hyperactivity). It sounds like the adderal sharpened your focus & gave you energy and this is not uncommon in people who do not have adhd. Please remember that it is a controlled substance and it is not legal to take this medication if it is prescribed for someone else. With that said, depression is very treatable. Symptoms of depression can include sleeping too much or too little; eating too much or too little, crying spells; angry, irritable or sad moods most of the time; feeling helpless or hopeless; feeling very guilty without reason, problems with concentration, decision making and memory; poor motivation levels, not having fun anymore, isolating yourself, liking yourself less and sometimes even thoughts about death or suicide can occur. Please see a psychiatrist or psychologist so that you can be evaluated. There are excellent medications available and you can feel much better. Take care.

Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) : Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) can help with depression and it can uplift the mood of someone who's not depressed too. As dr. Fowler mentioned, it is a controlled medication (i.e. Has abuse potential), and it is not a first line antidepressant treatment for a variety of reasons. Don't know if you have a prescription for it yourself but i was curious about what you meant by "some" Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) that you took. Hope you get yourself evaluated by a professional because of the severity of your symptoms/experiences.
