You're : You're correct. Levothyroxine is used to treat hypothyroidism (low thyroid). It's possible your son had a blood test done that showed he was suffering from hypothyroidism, and he was given the medication for this reason. Ask the doctor -- or his nurse -- to document the reason for administering this medication. This may just be a matter of miscommunication.
