The : The ct will be able to detect cancer if present. To answer your question, with any enlargement of organs there is a chance of cancer. However, there are also many other causes as well (fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, hepatitis, sickle cell disease etc.) hopefully your doctors will be able to figure out exactly the cause of your hepatosplenomegaly (enlarged liver and spleen) and come up with a treatment plan. Infection: Agree with Dr. J. Chronic infection is a more likely cause of your signs and symptoms than cancer.
