First thought: My first thought would be a rotation of those ribs into that position. Some have vertebrae in their back (which anchor the ribs) that can be rotated slightly, making ribs more prominent on one side & less so on the other. A good exam could detect this.

Rib protrusions can impair your ability to fully exhale. You may want to have an evaluation by a thoracic surgeon who may recommend physical therapy.
