Diabetes : Diabetes can cause high blood sugar (glucose) and glucose in the urine. Also infections can raise the glucose level. Kidney failure can be a result of damage to the kidneys from poorly controlled or undiagnosed diabetes. She likely has a viral illness which exacerbated her diabetes and ultimately put her in kidney failure. I hope she recovers. Take care.
