Spondylolisthesis : Spondylolisthesis can cause long term back pain. It can also cause symptoms in your legs, including pain, numbness, tingling sensation, and weakness. You should see an orthopaedic surgeon who might get x-rays of your lower back, and possibly an mri, or ct scan. The usual treatment is: adjusting your activities, physical therapy, and pain medication. This conservative treatment is done for 6-12 weeks, but sometimes more. If you are still having pain after this, sometimes the best answer is surgery. The surgery would be a lumbar fusion, which would stabilize the painful spinal level. The results of surgery are typically very good for this condition.
