Prolonged : Prolonged vaginal bleeding not related to your period is called dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Depending on your age, there are a variety of things that could be causing it such as a hormone imbalance, annovulation (from your polycystic ovarian syndrome), pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine fibroids, trauma, menopause, inherited bleeding disorders, and rarely, cancer. You should contact your doctor or another doctor for a re-evaluation. Even though you cannot take hormone pills containing estrogen because of your history of stroke, you still might be a candidate for progesterone-only pills or an iud (intrauterine device). I attached a website below that talks about dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I hope this helps! good luck!
