If : If you think the string is longer and that the iud may be coming out - then you need to call your ob/gyne right away. Sometimes this just happens. Do not try to re-position the iud yourself. IUD "search" needed: The first thing to do, if you are sexually active, is to run a pregnancy test. See a GYN MD now and have him/her locate the IUD strings or not. If they are not found further investigation is warranted.
