Maybe: Short term memory changes may be due to a variety of causes one of which may be hydrocephalus. A comprehensive neurological evaluation is a preerequisite to surgical treatment. More common symptoms would include headache, nausea, and blurry or loss of peripheral vision. A variant affecting older individuals may cause incontinence, gait instability, and cognitive impairment (including memory loss).

Hydrocephalus: If your hydrocephalus is becoming uncompromised and pressure is rising, it can effect your short term memory. Long term memory is more resistant to loss.You should consult your neurosurgeon soon.
