She : She needs to go to her doctor to be evaluated. She might have strep throat. In the meantime, tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil might make her more comfortable.

Possible mononucleos: Sounds like she has some type of infection. Could be bacterial if she has a fever or viral. Possibilities include mono, primary herpes infection, tonsilitis. She should be seen by her primary care immediately.
