Congratulations : Congratulations on your weight loss and your journey to becoming more fit! unfortunately, when you have lost that much weight, the extra skin is unlikely tighten with additional exercise. Surgical removal of the excess skin and tissue wiil help improve the contour of your thighs. Continued exercise is necessary to maintain your results. Incisions (and ultimately scars) are strategically placed to treat the underlying deformity and maintain aesthetic units. A medial thigh lift will treat excess skin in the inner thigh. - a limited incision can be created in the groin crease and extend to the gluteal crease on the lower buttock. This is used for minimal excess skin in the inner upper thigh. -an extended medial thigh lift (or vertical medial thigh lift) is an "l" shaped incision in the groin crease that extends down the inner thigh to the knee. The scar is longer, but this surgery is more effective at treating excess skin along the length of the inner thigh. Most patients that have lost over 100 pounds fall in this category. A consultation would be necessary to determine what surgery would create your desired results. The ideal placement of the scars will be determined by your plastic surgeon. www.dassmd.com.
