Yes: Sleep paralysis can be a symptom of an underlying disorder such as sleep apnea or narcolepsy. It can be related to the intake of certain substances or medications. It can be made worse by poor sleeping habits, sleep deprivation, alcohol. Talk to your doctor, in the meantime, regular sleep hours, enough sleep time of about 7hrs per night, avoid alcohol.

Sleep: If you drink alcohol then it can causes rebound rem sleep, if paralysis is worse and awakens you then please do sleep study and mslt, you should blink your eyelids if you wake up in rem sleep paralysis then you sill snap out of it. Rem suppressant meds can be used such as snris etc.
