Can a general practitioner diagnose laryngopharyngeal reflux? after reviewing the symptoms of laryngopharyngeal reflux, i would like an examination to see if that could be my condition and don't know if i need to see a specialist or my regular doctor.

ENT: An otorhinolaryngologist or ear, nose and throat doctor.

Yes, any MD/DO ...: That is familiar with the problem can make a presumptive diagnosis base on information you provide. Often there are no specific findings on examination however an ENT will look at your voice box with a mirror of fiberoptic scope to find supporting clues. There are elaborate tests that may confirm the diagnosis however dietary changes, elimination of stress, and medications may clinch the diagnosis.
