ENT: It's best to discuss this with your ENT who has your medical history. If you are not comfortable with your Dr. consult with another for a 2nd opinion.

Standard: That is relatively standard treatment. Reflux in general responds to lifestyle changes, weight loss specifically if applicable as reducing intraabdominal pressure. A gastroenterologist may help as well in the long term surveillance.
