Have pain in lower right side of abdomen that i was told is small cyst went to er and they gave me pain meds and sent me home, the pain has gotten worse but doctors just want to keep giving me pain meds. i do not want anymore pain pills, i want the pain

I : I am going to assume that it is an ovarian cyst. You are right in not wanting to keep taking pain pills. Pain pills are addictive and should be avoided whenever possible. Actually, Ibuprofen often works better for cysts than pain pills. However, since you are still having pain, you should have a re-evaluation, preferably by a gynecologist. There are other treatments besides pain pills. If you are in severe pain, have a fever, vomiting, or new complaints then you must be seen as an emergency.
