I have a visible epiglottis, should i worry? no sore throats, and im an adult

Though : Though it is much more common in children, a visible epiglottis can be a normal variant in an adult. That being said, you need to make sure that it is indeed the epiglottis that you are seeing and not an epiglottis or tongue base tumor (which are almost always painless). As long as you are not having difficulty breathing or swallowing, have not noticed changes in how it looks, and have been examined by a doctor who tells you that what you see is a normal epiglottis, then you have a normal variant and shouldn't worry about it.
