Infectious : Infectious mononucleosis is most often caused by the epstein barr virus (ebv) and 90% of people have been exposed by age 35. Most people only ever get mono once, though in very rare cases the symptoms can recur months or years after the initial infection. Once you are infected with ebv, the virus lies dormant in the body, periodically reactivating and shedding through saliva. Most people are not sick or feel any symptoms when this happens unless they are immunocompromised such as with HIV or on transplant medications. If you are experiencing the signs and symptoms of mono such as -sore throat -fever -enlarged lymph nodes -fatigue and weakness -loss of appetite you should contact your doctor since there are many other illnesses that have similar symptoms to mono. Left sided stomach pains without any other symptoms are unlikely recurrent mono and if these symptoms persist, you should speak with you doctor.

See your doctor: Don't let undiagnosed abdominal pain go without evaluation. Abdominal pain is a very broad subject, so letting the doctor evaluate can allow him/her to start eliminating various issues.
