When should kids be able to say their own name?

At about age 2 years: Children can say their names (in their own toddler-speech) around age 2 years. They can respond to being called by name at an earlier age, around age 1 year. A child can pronounce her name fairly clearly around age 2 years if she has an easy name and is an early talker. A child with a difficult name will, of course, have a harder time saying her own name.

By 2: Children recognize their name by a year of age or sooner and should be able to say their name by 20-22 months of age.
