Simply getting at weight and comparing it to a year ago will give you an idea on this. - he might have developed nasal allergies that contribute to nasal congestion and upper airway narrowing. Loud snoring can be a presenting sign for sleep apnea. I recommend that he discuss this with his primary care physician to see if he needs further evaluation with a sleep study to look for sleep apnea.

Sinus infecton: There are many reasons that could have caused a change. He should see a doctor/dentist who understands snoring. But some possibilities are; a cold with sinus problems, increased in weight, sleeping on his back or other breathing problems.
