Osas can result in high blood pressure and heart rhythm abnormalities. Obesity can be a co-morbidity and loosing weight may be helpful. Absolutely: This can be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea. Patients who have osa stop breathing many times during the night and this can contribute to high blood pressure, heart diease, and increased risk of stroke. This should be discussed with a doctor and often a sleep study will be ordered to determine if there is obstructive sleep apnea.
