Most : Most teens will experience acne. It is so common that it is considered a normal part of puberty. Acne (black heads, white heads and pimples) happen due to the hormonal changes happening as your body develops. These hormonal changes send signals to your glands to produce a substance called "sebum." when the body produces too much, acne develops. Yes, eating healthy is a good way to help with acne. Avoid fried foods and foods that are high in fat. Other things you can help are: 1. Use a mild soap and warm water when cleaning your face to diminish irritation to the skin 2. Use oil-free skin products (such as lotions, sunscreen) as these products do not clog your pores. 3. Avoid getting products on you skin - they clog your pores. 4. Try not to touch your face to much - oils/sweat from your hands can clog pores 5. Don't pop your blemishes 6. Apply ice to the blemishes each night - to decrease swelling and irritaion for severe acne, see a dermatologist. There are medications that can be prescribed by a doctor that can help clear up severe acne.
