A member asked:

If i have lupus, am i still a good candidate for laser eye surgery? i was recently diagnosed with lupus. before i was diagnosed, i was planning to have laser eye surgery. will my eye doctor still do the procedure even though i have this?

It : It depends. If you have had eye problems in the past especially dry eyes then there are many eye surgeons that would not do refractive surgery. Some surgeons will not do refractive surgery on a patient with any history of rheumatologic problems. I do believe that it is worthwhile to get a full eye exam and ask those questions from your trusted eye surgeon. Best regards, jc.
