A member asked:

Eye doctors, what are your opinion about eye laser surgery in terms of safety and long term side effects?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Generally safe: Lasik surgery has a very good safety profile. The major long term complication is some degree of dryness of the eyes. The power can change over the years (we call that regression), and that can commonly be improved with more lasik (we call that enhancement). If your eyes meet the criteria for the lasik surgeon, then don/t worry.
