Familiar items : Inductions can be a relatively quick process or take up to 2-3 days. Bring a pillow, blanket and slippers from home (put them away for the delivery so they don't get messy). Have an ipod with music you like. Many people bring family pictures or an item you have brought for the new baby to focus on during labor. Take a childbirth prep class and know your pain management options.

Same as labor: A difference between induction and spontaneous labor can be the length of the labor. If your cervix is favorable, your labor will likely progress quickly. If you have to be induced for a medical reason, it may take a day or more. In the early or latent phase, visualization techniques, music, massage or walking is helpful. In active labor, you may consider pain meds or epidural as well.
