In : In our imaging department there is no additional charge for 3-d ultrasound imaging. Many imaging centers offer 3-d ultrasound in order to attract more business and more patients. You need to call ahead and determine whether or not an imaging center has 3-d ultrasound capability (this requires a special 3-d ultrasound probe and the appropriate computer software). When you are at your appointment let the ultrasound technologist know you would like 3-d images. There are some non-medical 3-d ultrasound businesses which offer packages priced from $75 - $300; however, these images are not evaluated by physicians and should not replace a medical obstetric ultrasound exam.

Ask!: I imagine that if you're getting a fetal study and the facility you are going to has 3d capability that they might throw it in as part of the exam. Ask.
