Unlikely: Without any risk factors for dvt, this is very unlikely. You probably have a bruise.

Possible: But unlikely swelling is a common sign and important feature. Bruise is from trauma and if in front of thigh over quads from dog hit- that s away from most veins . Calf can hurt from multiple reasons. No swelling, unlikely dvt.
