No: Bruising indicates bleeding - just the opposite of DVT (clot). Dopplers are sensitive. If one is negative, you don't have a dvt. The bruising is indicative of a different problem. Some type of trauma (albeit minor) is the most likely cause. Alternatively you should be checked for low platelets or a clotting disorder. Bleeding into the calf muscle is painful and could account for your symptoms.
