My son was born with lipodystrophy displasia twelve years ago. not much was known then. is there any information you can give me now?

New genes...: Does your son have mandibuloacral dysplasia with lipodystrophy? If so, within the last ten years, mutations in two genes (lmna and zmpste24) have been discovered in these patients. No new treatments as of yet based on these discoveries. May be worthwhile to talk with a geneticist for the most up to date information. If this is not your son's disease, i apologize.
